Leadership

The people behind Gibraltar Glass.

Three generations of family ownership, more than four decades of commercial interior glass in Dallas–Fort Worth, and a team built on one idea: do it right the first time, and earn the next call.

Michael LaRocca, Founder, Gibraltar Glass

Founder

Michael LaRocca

The man, the myth, the legend.

Mike LaRocca didn’t inherit a glass company. He built one. In 1981, Mike, his late father Roy LaRocca, and four other investors bought the glass division of AGC Building Materials outright and set out to make it something better. Forty-five years later, Gibraltar Glass is one of the best-known interior glass contractors in Dallas–Fort Worth, and it’s still family-owned.

Mike built the company on relationships, not transactions. Keep your word, stand behind your work, and treat the GC’s problem like it’s your own. Those rules still run the shop today. He also built a weekly WIP process into Gibraltar from the start, so every job, every dollar, and every change is tracked. That discipline is why general contractors keep calling back decades later.

James LaRocca, CEO and Partnerships Director, Gibraltar Glass

CEO | Partnerships Director

James LaRocca

Third generation. NTGA President.

James is the third generation of LaRoccas in glass, and he took the long way here: the service industry, telecom sales and management, then healthcare as a pharmacy technician. He brings marketing, AI-driven sales, systems, and relationship stewardship to a trade that often runs on habit. Every stop put him on a high-performing team, and he leads the same way: he won’t ask a teammate to do anything he isn’t willing to do first. Leaders serve first and eat last.

As President of the North Texas Glass Association, James was quoted in a national USGlass Magazine feature on interior glazing’s shift from Division 8 to Division 10. His playbook for winning that work back: partner with glazier-first suppliers like FHC and CRL, and own the demountable scope instead of handing it to furniture dealers. For GCs and owners, his promise is simple: fast budgets, clear scope, no surprises.

Kevin Anderson, VP of Production, Gibraltar Glass

VP of Production

Kevin Anderson

The Einstein of Interiors.

Kevin has spent 44 years at Gibraltar Glass, nearly the company’s whole history. In that time he has worked on more than 7,500 projects across Texas. If there’s a way to frame it, set it, or fix it in an interior space, Kevin has done it, and he has probably solved the problem nobody else could.

As VP of Production, Kevin takes every awarded job from contract to closeout. His landmark DFW projects include Wingstop’s corporate headquarters in Uptown Dallas, 4320 Main Street in Dallas, Atos’s North American headquarters in Irving, Roam Grandscape in The Colony, and Caliber Collision in Carrollton. He’s the field wisdom behind Gibraltar’s clean installs, and the person our crews, and plenty of GCs, call when a job gets complicated.

Shaun Kirkland, Estimator, Gibraltar Glass

Estimator

Shaun Kirkland

A fresh perspective on the bid desk.

Shaun brings something most glass estimators don’t have: a background outside the trade. He held marketing and operations roles across several industries, and at the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce he was known for building virtual and digital solutions. He also codes, and has built AI workflows and bid-organization tools for Gibraltar’s estimating process, a niche skill as estimating moves toward automation and data-driven bidding.

With several years estimating in the competitive DFW market, Shaun specializes in interior glass and storefront and knows how to match material selection to design intent and budget. At Gibraltar, he runs the bid desk, turning around accurate, clearly scoped budgets fast so GCs and owners can make decisions without waiting on their glazier.
